Music Studio Policies
1. Be on time. I don't go over the allotted time period I have designated
for you. This means that, if you have a 30 minute lesson and you are 10
minutes late, you will have a 20 minute lesson and will still need to pay
for 30 minutes.
2. If you know you are going to be late and call on the way, I will work
with you to make sure your time is taken care of.
3. If you need to cancel, please do so within a 24 hour notice.
4. If weather doesn't permit or if you are ill, the 24 hour cancellation
policy doesn't apply. Lessons will be cancelled. However, you will still
need to call me and let me know as soon as you know that you can't
make it.
5. If you need to cancel within 24 hours, you will receive the first as a
free lesson. If you cancel more than once without notifying me, your
space on my calendar will be removed, filled by someone else who wants
to take lessons and you will not be able to return to my studio.
6. If you need to change lessons to a different day or time, please let me
know at least one week in advance so I can shift my schedule. If you let
me know after the one week time frame, it will not become effective until
the next week and the lesson will be cancelled.
7. Payments are accepted weekly or monthly; your preference. If
lessons have to be cancelled, payment will be substituted for the next
month.
8. Lesson periods will always last for 3 months. After this time period,
there will be a short break (usually 1 month). If you wish for your child
to go to the next level, let me know and we will start during the next time
frame.
9. I ask for a 3 month commitment from everyone who comes to my
studio. This means that, after the initial evaluation, decide whether you
want to take and be committed to a time frame so that I can put you on
my schedule.
10. If you try only 2 or 3 lessons then decide not to come back, you will
need to pay me for the 3 month time frame you have dedicated yourself
to, as this time could have been fulfilled by someone else.
11. Please prepare your child to be ready to learn so that we can take full
advantage of the lesson.
12. Please talk to your child about practicing and coming prepared to the
lesson. A beginning should practice between 10 - 15 minutes every day
or every other day.
13. It is up to the parent to buy all materials for their children, including
the recommended book and a notebook that will be used to keep track of
weekly lessons.
14. Schedule for lessons is:
First session
Week of September 18th to December 13th.
Second session
week(s) of January 14th - February 20 to mid-April or May (dependent
on student start up date and recital schedule)
